It All Began With the Dogs
Long before The Dog’s Business became a shop or a brand, there were three dogs, a passion for adventure and a growing appreciation for equipment that could go the distance.
Freddie from Essex, Winnie from Ukraine and Fluffy from Egypt. Three dogs with very different personalities, needs and backgrounds.
Together, their travels have taken them through Turkey, Bulgaria, Ukraine, France, Germany, Egypt and beyond.
Along the way, their different needs and experiences helped shape the ideas that would eventually become The Dog’s Business.
FROM ADVENTURE TO AMBITION
ESTABLISHED 2022
From snowy forests in Ukraine to mountain trails, quiet beaches and countless miles exploring new places, travelling with dogs became much more than an adventure.
Every journey brought different landscapes, challenges and experiences, revealing just how important comfortable, durable and reliable dog equipment really was.
These weren’t simply holidays or walks. They were real-life experiences that shaped an understanding of what dogs need, whether exploring somewhere extraordinary or enjoying an everyday walk.
Over time, those experiences sparked an ambition — to create something that brought together a love of dogs, adventure and thoughtfully designed equipment.
And in 2022, The Dog’s Business was born in Suffolk.
What began with a passion for dogs and the outdoors became the foundation of a British dog business with a much bigger vision.
FROM EXPERIENCE TO INNOVATION
Years of travelling and exploring with dogs highlighted the need for equipment that could adapt to different environments, activities and everyday life.
The first step was creating a truly versatile hands-free lead. Something practical, comfortable and adaptable, offering freedom and flexibility whether exploring mountain trails, enjoying long walks or simply heading out for the day.
But the ambition didn’t stop there.
Years of hands-on experience fitting different harnesses revealed opportunities to improve comfort, adjustability and freedom of movement.
That knowledge eventually led to the development of the OBRIY™ Anatomical Harness — thoughtfully designed in Suffolk, with real dogs and real adventures in mind.

What began with a love of dogs and a life of adventure has grown into something much bigger.
Today, The Dog’s Business is an independent dog boutique and growing British dog gear brand, proudly based in Suffolk.
Our shop is more than somewhere to buy dog equipment. It’s a place where experience, knowledge and a genuine understanding of dogs come together.
From helping customers find the perfect fit to developing our own thoughtfully designed collections, everything we do is guided by one simple belief: dogs deserve equipment that works as beautifully as it looks.
We’re proud of how far we’ve come, but this is only the beginning.
